Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding launch first project in MBR city
Dubai: Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding have launched Dubai Hills, a gated golf-course community, which will be the first project in the recently announced Mohammad Bin Rashid (MBR) City, the developers said yesterday in a joint statement.
The development, located between Emirates Road and Al Khail Road, will feature luxury villas overlooking an 18-hole championship golf course, they said. The villas will be allocated plots of 20,000 to 30,000 square feet each.

Shaikh Mohammad Talks About UAE National Day on Twitter


Dubai: His Hingness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Saturday took to the social networking site Twitter  to reinforce the importance of reading about the history of the UAE ahead of the celebration of the country's 41 st national day.

The Al Maktoum family descends from the Al Bu Falasah section of the Bani Yas, a highly respected and authoritative tribal federation that was the dominant power throughout most of what is now the UAE.

         

      
 The Al Maktoum family's reign as rulers of Dubai began in 1833, when Sheikh Maktoum bin Buti, and around 800 tribesmen moved from Abu Dhabi. Dubai, like most settlements in the region at that time was just a small town, but the arrival of the Al Maktoum family changed that. Dubai is now one of the most vibrant cities in the world, attracting tourists and business executives from many countries

China can become largest robot consumer
With the demand for industrial robots being anticipated to hit 32,000 units by 2014, China could become the world’s largest robotics consumer.

According to the International Federation of Robotics, the sector’s technology and production have gained momentum amid higher labour costs and China’s efforts to restructure its economic growth pattern and improve energy efficiency, Xinhua reported.



Taking U-turn to death

An accident in Dubai’s Al Wasl area claimed the life of a pedestrian as she tried to cross the road. According to eyewitnesses, the impact of the collision was so severe that the victim landed below a truck parked in a nearby parking lot.
